I'm outraged and sad.

I've been trying to think how I wanted to tackle the subject of everything going on in the world that upsets me right now, and I think I've finally been able to process and verbalize these things.

The first thing that makes me very infuriated and sad would be rape culture.
Why is it so hard for someone to understand that no means no. if someone does not say yes, I am consenting to this then don't proceed. Don't force people to do sexual things. Don't touch someone if they don't want you to. Just respect people, respect their space, their wishes and desires.
As being a young woman who will be applying for colleges soon the main thing I've been looking into is campus safety and how the school handles sexual assault cases. The sexual harassment cases I've read about online and watched interviews about all have something in common and that is, when they reported being sexually assaulted the school didn't take these complaints seriously. And that makes me angry beyond belief. I hate that as a human I fear if I'm taken advantage of and that if file a report that I will be told if I was drinking, or dressing a certain way people will say I was asking for it. I hate the fact that people are afraid to report this horrible, horrible thing because they fear not being listened to, or people retaliating towards them. I hate the fact that people don't believe men can be raped, and that if a male reports sexual assault people call him names. STOP SHAMING THE VICTIM. stop making excuses, stop brushing off the situation. I was told by someone I thought so so highly of, that if a girl got too drunk or was hanging around people who are bad and she got sexually assaulted it would be her fault. To the people who are blaming the victims, put your friend, your mom, your sister, your brother, you significant other in the victims situation and if you wouldn't blame your loved ones for being taken advantage of don't you dare say it's the victims fault.

Here are the cases I looked into, where the victim was blamed;

 "Rape is called "the most underreported violent crime in America." In a large national survey of American women, only 16% of the rapes (approximately one out of every six) had ever been reported to the police." - Rape in America: A Report to the Nation, National Victim Center, 1992

The second thing that is making my heart hurt so so much is something that hits really close to home.
The social injustice going on regarding people of color. And that Irritates me beyond belief, I absolutely despise the racism going on in the world. I think this makes my heart hurt the most because I have two younger brothers of color, my dad, my grandfathers, uncles, cousins, aunts whom I am constantly worrying about now. it upsets me that innocent people are being killed, and when the people who killed them are blamed their defense is "well they had a criminal record" and that's what is all over the news. Their mug shots from several years ago are used to identify them, and you hear all about their past. Men are being killed in front of their children, a young boy was chased by police down the street because they thought he was doing something bad, however he was chasing a basket ball. Young boys are killed because they were playing with toy guns, yet no one bothered to check if it was a toy or not, instead they opened fire killing the young boy. You hear the phrases "Don't shoot" "I don't have a weapon". A therapist was shot at while trying to calm down his autistic patient. In the video you see him laying on the pavement, with his hands on his head explaining he is helping his autistic patient, that he is a therapist and to put the guns down. He survived and just listening to the interview breaks my heart. I'm tired of hearing the N word thrown around as a joke. I'm tired of people saying all lives matter when people are standing up saying black lives matter. Saying black lives matter doesn't mean "ONLY black lives matter" EVERY life matters, however other races aren't dealing with the same stuff currently people of color are. I am sick and tired of sterotypes, I'm tired of innocent people being killed. I'm tired of ignorant people ignoring the issues going on. I'm outraged that people are attacking kaepernick for sitting during the national anthem. People aren't even looking at the bigger picture of why he is sitting, they just take it as "Oh look he's disrespecting his country" When in fact he is taking a MAJOR risk. He is literally sitting to say "I'm taking a stand in front of MILLIONS, I repeat MILLIONS of people to show he is outraged, disappointed and infuriated by the killings of black people." If him sitting pisses you off, I suggest you rethink the situation and realize what you should be upset over. He shouldn't be bashed, or have people burning his jersey. We should be applauding this man for taking his stance and not budging.

Finally; I hate that Donald trump is most likely to be our president. I don't hate him because he is unintelligent, I hate him for his sexist, racist, homophobic comments. I hate the hate he promotes, I hate that he verbally attacks the disabled, that he makes absolutely horrible comments towards Muslims. I hate that he makes the most disrespectful comments towards women for instance here are things he has said about women;
That woman are aesthetically pleasing objects.
That sexual assault in the military is expected.
That bad press doesn't matter as long as you have a sexy girlfriend.
That woman must be hot in order to be a journalist
That pumping breastmilk is disgusting.
 I hate that he is so popular just because his name is well known and has a lot of money. He want's to make America great again?? when exactly was America great? When we kicked the native Americans out of their homeland? When African Americans were forced into working, when we kidnapped them from their homes? When we burned people at the stake because they were believed to be witches, and after they were burned people realized "oh wait they weren't a witch, oh my bad." Was America great when people were getting raped and no one said anything. was America great when we denied people to marry the gender they prefer? Was America great when we put Japanese into camps because we were afraid of them, due to pearl harbor. Is America great when people care more about football season then woman being denied abortions? Are we a great country when we bash Muslims for practicing their religion, but we have "freedom of religion?" Are we a great country when we tell girls to just wear baggy sweats and sweatshirts because boys will be boys, and we can't control how they view us? Someone please explain exactly when we were a great country. Now I am not bashing America either, I absolutely love having the freedom of running water, an abundance of food, the ability to attend school. There are a lot of great things about this country, and people are risking their lives every day to assure I have these things when I wake up each day. Personally I'm strongly considering serving my country as well. But we can't overlook these things going on. I love that I can now marry any gender I want, I'm thankful we don't have the terrible things other countries have going on. But America has never been 100% perfect like Donald trump claims he can make it be again. nor can this world ever be perfect because we live in a fallen world. Whether you believe it or not, you can't wake up each morning turn on the news and not admit that our world is so broken, and full of so much hate. I think its also very important to think about how this years election affects so many individuals. The LBTQ+ community. People of color communities, females, our military, health care, etc. We've come so far and have so much farther to go. I think about it this way, when I have grandchildren I don't want to have the conversation of "why did America elect someone to put up roadblocks against people" instead I'd rather have the conversation of "Why didn't you guys accept everyone before 2016".

These are all very important topics that need to be discussed more. People are angry, and I think it's so so important to hear everyone's side before even more violence breaks out.
